Roger Beaujolais Quartet
Roger Beaujolais, vibraphone virtuoso, takes the BJazz 7th May slot after Lenore Raphael cancelled her Europe tour. For BJazz Roger leads a talented quartet – Robin Aspland (piano), Simon Thorpe (bass), Milo Fell (drums) – and will be playing a wide variety of standards, straight up jazz, but we might hope for his version of the Jimi Hendrix classic “The Wind Cries Mary”.
As JazzMann says, Roger, “a professional musician for over thirty years is a spectacular vibes soloist and a highly popular figure on the UK jazz scene”. He has been a regular performer with another BJazz favourite, Jim Mullen, but has a long and impressive list of collaborations to his name.

Roger has a comprehensive website, including a selection of tracks from this album on the home page:
and amongst the Youtube videos this is a (slightly shaky) one with Roger sporting the long white beard acquired since we last saw him in Berkhamsted, playing the Cole Porter standard “I Love You”:
