Emily is a rising star of British jazz. A 21-year-old jazz singer from Wigan, educated at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Manchester's famous Cheetham’s School of Music, Emily had early mentorship from her father, jazz saxophonist Dean Masser. Emily started with jazz sax, but 4 years ago focussed on singing and quickly gained attention and support in the UK scene.

In high demand, Emily and her band had a 21 date tour early this year. Emily and another rising star, Alex Clarke (twice at BJazz) perform together regularly, and Emily and band appear this year at Pizza Express Soho and numerous leading jazz festivals and clubs, including the Buxton International Festival, Swanage Jazz Festival, Scarborough Jazz Festival, and Southport Jazz Festival.

Emily is supported by an all-star rhythm section: in-demand Hungarian pianist Matyas Gayer (Eddie Henderson, Scott Hamilton), rising star bassist Lorenzo Morabito, and ultra-swinging drummer and BJazz regular Steve Brown:

London based, Hungarian jazz pianist, Matyas Gayer is an award-winning young  musician. And has become a prominent part of the British jazz scene by forging his own  style and voice through the use of the jazz piano tradition. A regular performer on the  London and European jazz scene, Matyas has collaborated with the greats of jazz such  as Eddie Henderson, Scott Hamilton, and Grant Stewart, amongst others. He was  recently part of a live recording at Pizza Express, Soho with Don Branden, shortly  followed by a studio album recording with Scott Hamilton. Matyas released a new trio record last year with Dave Green and Steve Brown. 

Lorenzo Morabito, born in London to Italian parents, has swiftly become one of the most sought-after double bassists on the UK jazz scene. His impeccable timing, articulate soloing, and versatility across jazz subgenres have made him a first-call musician for numerous prominent artists and ensembles. Currently, Lorenzo is collaborating with some of the top jazz musicians in both the UK and Europe, showcasing his exceptional talent and growing influence in the jazz world.

Steve Brown is a British jazz drummer from Manchester. His career began in the 1990s,  and he has since worked with notable artists such as Scott Hamilton, Barry Harris, Alan  Barnes and Dave Newton, along with his involvement with The Echoes of Ellington band.  He has been recognised with several prestigious awards throughout his career. Notably,  he has won the British Jazz Award for Best Drummer multiple times, including in 2007, 2009, and 2013. He is a regular performer at BJazz.
