DESCRIPTION:Jan 27th is our next livestream in partnership with Guildford Jazz as a BEAT event\, funded by Arts Council England\, promoting the next generation of artists\, featuring the Yolanda Charles Project pH \nAccess is via this link on the night and upto a week after\, free for the BJazz community though a donation to the musicians is welcomed: https://youtu.be/a8mZIsKXFeU \nYolanda was awarded an MBE for her services to music in 2020 and has performed live with artists such as Hans Zimmer\, Squeeze\, Robbie Williams\, and Paul Weller\, as well as recording with BB King\, Mick Jagger\, Dave Stewart and Queen. \nProject pH features a diverse range of musical styles\, including beautiful ballads\, heavy funk-fusion instrumentals\, and modern R&B-influenced soulful tunes\, drawing comparisons to Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters\, Prince\, Yes\, and Return to Forever\, and even the Mahavishnu Orchestra. \nLondon-based guitarist Nick Linnik. Laurie Lowe on drums\, known for his work with the Preston\, Glasgow\, and Lowe trio. Pianist Hamish Balfour brings a wide range of experience as a composer and arranger.
